FEDERATED RHODE ISLAND SPORTSMEN'S CLUBS, INC
MISSION
The goal of FRISC is the unification of organized sportsmen of Rhode Island and nearby territory into a single body, thereby creating cooperative thought and action towards establishing and maintaining sane and suitable control of the restoration, protection and preservation of fish, game, and non-game wildlife and their habitats and to perpetuate with the high ethics and ideals the recreational sport of fishing, hunting, sport shooting, camping, horseback riding, reforestation, beautification, and clean waters.
Duning the past year the Federated's leadership amd member clubs did an outstanding job in the furtherance of the FRISC's mission. The leadership attended and testified at a multitude of Department of Environmental Management (DEM) and State legislative hearings. In addition, DEM attends the Federated monthly meetings. This reciprocal educational practice greatly facilitates effective communication between the regulatory and sportsmen communities.
FRISC newsletters and club delegates regularly report to the member clubs. FRISC has sponsored a website, a Polictal Action Committee, a Game Dinner, A Federated Day, and a Annual Banquet where a Sports Person and a Sports Youth are recognized. It also initiated statewide Shot Gunner and Archer of the Year competitions.
The member clubs further extend the FRISC Mission's outreach to their members, family, friends and general public through field days, fishing, shooting and social activities. The clubs are also ensuring the perpetuation of the future sportsmen activities and second amendment right by sponsoring a variety of educational sports youth activities.
The Federated has an open enrollment policy for organizational and individual memberships.
